Jamie T has announced a surprise intimate live show in London, according to NME. The singer-songwriter will play a one-off homecoming performance at Scala in King’s Cross next Thursday, August 20.
The date will mark his first full gig in two years. It also comes 20 years after his first appearance at the 1,145-capacity venue, where he played with a full band for the first time in 2006.
Tickets for the show go on general sale at 10am BST next Wednesday, August 19. Fans can also access a pre-sale at the same time on Tuesday, August 18, by signing up in advance.
According to a press release, the London show will be a “full-circle moment at the start of a new chapter,” suggesting new music may be on the way. Jamie T also shared a teaser video on Thursday, August 13, pointing to something happening next week.
His most recent album, The Theory Of Whatever, was released in 2022. Since then, he has put out the standalone single Hippodrome, teamed up with Fred Again.. on Lights Burn Dimmer, and worked with The Big Pink’s Robbie Furze and The Kills’ Jamie Hince on a new EP called M.O.T.H.E.R.
