Comedian James Acaster has introduced a new band called The Wow! Scenario and released its first single, “Zacuti,” featuring BC Camplight, according to NME.
The project has been developing for about 20 years and is now completed by Acaster, his friend Graeme Wicks, BC Camplight and Emma Daman. The band has also announced its debut album, “Stand in the Star. A Verse and a Chorus,” due out October 23 through Bella Union.
“Zacuti” is described as a jazz-driven track and serves as the first preview of the record. The album has eight songs, including “Diving!,” “Once More!” and “The Curse!”
According to NME, the band originally formed in Kettering in 2004. The songs were recorded, revisited and reworked over several years before the project was finally completed in March 2025.
Acaster previously worked on the musical project Temps, a large collective that included artists such as Quelle Chris, Xenia Rubinos, Shamir, NNAMDÏ and Seb Rochford.
