Jack White has invited Twin Temple to open for him at his Los Angeles show on Sept. 29 at the Hollywood Palladium, according to Rolling Stone. White made the offer on Friday in a social media post that ended with, “Get in front of me Satan!”
The invitation came shortly after Twin Temple said they were removed from Charley Crockett’s upcoming tour dates because of their “Satanic imagery.” On Thursday, Crockett confirmed to Rolling Stone that the duo had been cut from the run. He said, “I thought they were like Black Sabbath, but they ain’t. Not today, Satan.”
Twin Temple, the Los Angeles husband-and-wife duo of Alexandra and Zachary James, previously told fans they had been informed that Crockett had decided to drop them from the shows. They thanked supporters for standing behind both the band and artistic freedom, ending their message with “Hail Satan!”
White’s post appeared to reference his 2005 White Stripes album Get Behind Me Satan. He is currently touring behind his new album, Frozen Charlotte, and has two Hollywood Palladium dates scheduled for Sept. 28 and 29. It has not been announced who will open those shows.
