Jaafar Jackson says Michael sequel will cover abuse allegations from his perspective

Jaafar Jackson says the planned sequel to Michael will address the child abuse allegations that surrounded Michael Jackson later in his life from the singer’s “point of view,” according to NME.

In an interview with GQ, Jaafar Jackson said the film would aim to give more insight into his uncle’s side of the story. He said the family has long wanted Michael’s voice to be heard.

The first Michael film became the highest-grossing biopic of all time, passing $1 billion worldwide. Its story covered Jackson’s childhood and early rise, ending during the “Bad” world tour in the late 1980s.

The sequel is currently in development and is scheduled to begin production later this year, with a release now expected in late 2027 or early 2028, according to the report.
