Beabadoobee has released a new track called “Memories,” which she says is one of the happiest songs on her upcoming album Pylon, according to NME.
The singer-songwriter’s fourth studio album is set to arrive on September 18 through Dirty Hit and Interscope. It follows her 2024 record This Is How Tomorrow Moves.
Even though she describes the song as upbeat, Beabadoobee said it also carries a bittersweet feeling tied to nostalgia. She said it reflects “clinging onto ideas that should make me happy but actually make me feel sad,” because she wishes they were “just moments I lived in forever.”
“Memories” had already been performed live at her Red Rocks Amphitheatre show in Morrison, Colorado earlier this month. At that same concert, she also played the album’s title track, along with previously released songs “Sun Has Set” and “Switchblade.”
Pylon will include guest appearances from Hayley Williams, Brendan Yates, Evan Stephens Hall, Chino Moreno and Shane Morgan, while Matty Healy and George Daniel produced “Write Me A Letter.” Beabadoobee’s Powerlines tour is set to begin October 1 in Connecticut, with U.K. dates scheduled for November.
