Hilary Duff surprised the crowd at Madison Square Garden in New York on July 5 by bringing out Good Charlotte during her Lucky Me Tour performance, according to Rolling Stone.
After introducing the band as her friends, Duff welcomed Benji and Joel Madden to the stage, where they joined her and her band for a performance of “The Anthem.” The song appears on Good Charlotte’s 2002 album The Young and the Hopeless.
Duff launched the tour earlier this year in support of her latest album, Luck ... or Something. The run began in June and includes two shows at Madison Square Garden.
Rolling Stone also noted that Duff is set to continue the tour in the U.K. before it wraps up in Mexico City on Feb. 12, 2027. The outlet added that Duff and Joel Madden previously dated, and that the two have remained friends.
