Heather Rae El Moussa is opening up about how a burglary at her California home has changed the way she uses social media.
In an interview with E! News at the KARMA Automotive Celebration in Los Angeles on July 25, the Selling Sunset star said the break-in left her feeling more cautious and nervous about sharing details of her life online. She said the experience was “really devastating.”
According to the Newport Beach Police Department, the couple’s home was burglarized sometime between June 6 and June 8 while Heather and Tarek El Moussa were away on a family vacation. Police said unknown suspects entered the backyard, broke a rear sliding glass door, and ransacked the primary bedroom closet before leaving through the backyard and front yard.
Heather said the ordeal was hard on the family even though no one was hurt. She added that the experience taught her a lesson about posting in real time and prompted them to take additional safety precautions around their home.
