Gracie Abrams has earned her first No. 1 album, as Daughter From Hell debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, according to Rolling Stone. The release logged 124,000 equivalent album units in its first week.
Earlier in the week, the album was projected to land somewhere between 120,000 and 130,000 units. The result marks a new high point in Abrams’ career and tops the performance of her previous releases.
Abrams first broke into the Billboard 200 top 10 with her 2024 album The Secret of Us, which debuted at No. 2 with 89,000 units. That project also helped give her first Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit with “That’s So True” from its deluxe edition.
Produced by Aaron Dessner of The National, Daughter From Hell includes writing credits from Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, Audrey Hobert, and Paul Mescal, who co-wrote “Imaginary Friend.” Abrams said the album came from a quieter period after her tour ended and reflected the strange mix of loneliness and excitement that can come with being in your 20s.
