Courtney LaPlante stops Spiritbox show to remove violent fan in Phoenix

Spiritbox frontwoman Courtney LaPlante stopped the band’s recent performance in Phoenix, Arizona, after a fan in the crowd was accused of behaving violently, according to NME.

The incident happened on July 15 at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre, where Spiritbox were opening for Evanescence alongside Nova Twins. As the band prepared to finish with “Soft Spine,” drummer Zev Rose noticed someone apparently hurting other audience members.

LaPlante told the crowd the show would not continue until everyone was safe. She then asked nearby fans to identify the person, and after several people pointed in the same direction, she said security had located the alleged offender.

While checking on one person who appeared to be affected, LaPlante reminded fans to look out for each other in the crowd. Some concertgoers later said on social media that the person had been punching and shoving people outside the mosh pit.

“Soft Spine” appears on Spiritbox’s album Tsunami Sea, which was released in March last year. The band are currently touring North America and are set to begin their biggest UK headline tour in September.
