Hayden Panettiere, the actress known for her roles on Heroes and Nashville, has died at age 36, her representative confirmed to multiple outlets on Aug. 16, according to E! News.
In a statement, her spokesperson said the family shared the news with “profound sadness” and described her as “an incredible light” who brought love and joy to those around her and to fans who watched her onscreen.
Panettiere played Claire Bennet on Heroes from 2006 to 2010 before joining Nashville as Juliette Barnes, a role that earned her two Golden Globe nominations. She starred on the show from 2012 to 2018.
She had previously spoken about struggles with alcohol use, opioid addiction and postpartum depression, and she said she took a four-year break from acting after the series. Panettiere is survived by her 11-year-old daughter, Kaya Evdokia Klitschko, whom she shared with ex Wladimir Klitschko.
