Haim have hinted that a new album is on the way, with bassist Este Haim telling NME that the band is “always writing” and constantly thinking about what their next release will sound like.
The Los Angeles sisters — Danielle, Este and Alana Haim — put out their fourth studio album, I Quit, last summer. Speaking to NME, Este said Haim business is “open for business” all the time, even as the group takes a little more time before moving ahead.
Este said she wants to spend more time living in the moment and enjoying married life before rushing into the next record. She also said New York has been especially inspiring, pointing to the city’s energy, sounds and the chance to reconnect with old college friends.
When asked what a New York-inspired Haim album might sound like, Este said she does not have all the answers yet. According to NME, she said the band is still figuring it out and is enjoying the process.
