Helen, the shoegaze trio made up of Grouper’s Liz Harris, bassist Scott Simmons, and drummer Jed Bindeman, have announced their first album in more than a decade, according to Pitchfork.
The new record, Linda’s Head, is set for release on October 2 through Kranky. It follows the band’s only studio album so far, The Original Faces, which came out in 2015.
To go with the announcement, the band shared two songs from the album: the title track and “Dead Shark II.” They also revealed the cover art.
Pitchfork notes that Harris’s last Grouper album, Shade, was released in 2021. Later this month, she is scheduled to play a six-show mini-tour in the U.S. and Canada, with stops in Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, New York City, Washington, D.C., and Kingston, New York.
