Gracie Abrams is openly praising Ariana Grande, calling the pop star an “unmatched voice and presence” in a clip from a recent BBC Radio 1 interview shared Wednesday, according to Billboard.
Abrams said Grande’s bond with her fans has stayed “so intimate” even as her fame has grown, adding that she is impressed by the attention to detail Grande puts into giving audiences the best version of her show. She described herself as a “big fan and deep admirer” of the singer.
In June, Abrams showed her appreciation for Grande by covering “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” during BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. The song is one of Grande’s 10 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits.
Grande is currently on her Eternal Sunshine Tour, her first major tour in about seven years. She is also set to release her eighth studio album, Petal, at the end of the month.
Abrams recently released her own album, Daughter From Hell, and dropped two bonus tracks from the project on Sunday. She plans to launch her Look at My Life Tour in December.
