Gerard Way pauses Wembley show to talk about Baldur’s Gate

Gerard Way interrupted My Chemical Romance’s Wembley Stadium set over the weekend to answer a fan’s banner about Baldur’s Gate 3, according to NME. Way said he had only played the first Baldur’s Gate game, adding that he had also spent time with the Icewind Dale expansion before running out of time.

The moment happened during the band’s third and final headline show at Wembley as part of the European leg of their Long Live The Black Parade anniversary tour. The tour features the group playing The Black Parade in full before moving to a second set on a b-stage in the middle of the venue.

Way later asked the fan whether Baldur’s Gate 3 was good, saying the first game was “a lot of fun” and comparing it to playing Dungeons & Dragons at the time. The fan later shared a TikTok video of the exchange.

Elsewhere in the performance, Way paid tribute to British illustrator John Blanche, who died last month. He praised Blanche’s work on Games Workshop and Warhammer before dedicating “Vampires Will Never Hurt You” to him.
