George Clooney and Amal Clooney have evacuated their family home in Brignoles, France, as wildfires continue to burn across parts of Europe, according to E! News.
George Clooney said in a letter to Brignoles mayor Didier Brémond that the family does not yet know whether their home will survive the fire. In the message, he said he and Amal wanted to make clear that they were thinking first about the safety of the city and its residents.
The actor also said the couple remains committed to being part of the community, no matter what happens to their village. He added that they love Brignoles and their friends who live there.
According to the Associated Press, the blaze has burned an area four times the size of Paris and has forced 220,000 people from their homes, including the Clooneys and their neighbors.
