Finneas to keynote Guild of Music Supervisors’ 2026 conference

Finneas will serve as the keynote speaker at the Guild of Music Supervisors’ 12th annual State of Music in Media Conference, according to Billboard. The two-time Oscar winner and 11-time Grammy winner is scheduled to speak on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 11 a.m. at West Los Angeles College in Culver City, California.

His keynote is titled “Inside the Importance of Music and Its Powerful Connection to Story: A Conversation with Finneas O’Connell.” Diallo Riddle, who earned a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2011 for his work on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, will moderate the conversation.

Jonathan Leahy, president of the Guild of Music Supervisors, said in a statement that the organization is “thrilled and honored” to have Finneas as keynote speaker. Leahy added that Finneas’ career reflects how individual experiences and collaboration can shape meaningful creative work.

The conference will also include spotlight panels with 2026 Emmy-nominated music supervisors, composers and songwriters, along with sessions on music clearance challenges and ways to get music in front of music supervisors. Featured panelists include Andrew Bird, Nora Felder, Manish Raval, Michelle Johnson, Yvette Metoyer, Matt Biffa, Toko Nagata, Kris Bowers, Michael Dean Parsons, Dave Porter, Carlos Rafael Rivera, David Stal and Miguel Gandelman.

The Guild of Music Supervisors, founded in 2010, is a nonprofit that works to preserve and promote the role of music supervisors across media. Tickets and additional conference information are available through the GMS Media Conference site, according to Billboard.
