Boy Harsher have announced a new album titled Get Mean and released a new single called “Hard Beat,” according to NME.
The 12-track record is due out September 18 via Atlantic and follows the duo’s 2019 album Country Girl Uncut and their 2022 soundtrack for The Runner. The album also includes their previously released song “Jeans.”
According to the report, Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller explore grief, heartbreak, loss and survival across the project, reflecting on what it means to emerge from a difficult period feeling stronger. “Hard Beat” features heavy synths and haunting vocals, with themes of surveillance, deviance and trauma.
Boy Harsher are set to tour North America after the album’s release, with dates beginning in Hudson on September 25 and continuing through cities including Montreal, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New Orleans. The duo is also working on a debut feature film, The Lonely Woman, which stars Chloë Sevigny, FKA twigs and Sturgill Simpson.
