Erykah Badu and the Alchemist have announced that their debut collaborative album will be released on August 28, according to Pitchfork.
The project has been in the works since spring 2025. In the announcement, the pair did not include an album title, even though the Alchemist had previously referred to it as Abi & Alan.
The new release also includes a song called “Witch Doctor.” A Bandcamp listing for the project was titled, “Sorry, we don’t have an album title yet ...”
According to Pitchfork, Badu and the Alchemist co-produced the album over 18 months in Dallas and Los Angeles. The release will come through Control Freaq / Young, and the duo is also set to tour North America together next month.
