KPop Demon Hunters star Ejae says Leonardo DiCaprio was the reason she stumbled during a performance at the BAFTAs earlier this year, according to NME.
Ejae, who provides the singing voice of Rumi in the Netflix hit, performed with Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami at the awards show in February. Speaking to The Times, she said she felt pressure performing in front of so many celebrities, and that seeing DiCaprio in the audience made her especially nervous.
She said the actor was sitting right in front of her and “was not smiling,” which distracted her during the song “Born To Be.” Ejae said that led to mistakes, including cracking on some high notes.
In the same interview, Ejae reflected on the huge success of KPop Demon Hunters, saying the film’s rise has still been hard to take in. The animated Netflix movie has become the streamer’s most watched film of all time, with a sequel and global live tour among the projects in development.
