Disney has launched a new merchandise collection that gives several of its classic villains a heavy metal makeover, according to NME.
The line includes T-shirts styled around metal logo designs, such as a Sleeping Beauty shirt for Maleficent with “Mirror Mirror” in scraggly black-metal lettering, a Hercules shirt for Hades reading “Lord of the Underworld” in a doom metal-inspired font, and a shirt for Ursula from The Little Mermaid designed to resemble a progressive doom band logo.
Other items in the collection feature Yzma and Kronk from The Emperor’s New Groove, along with a Maleficent shirt tied to a “Villainous Tour” look that is meant to resemble a concert T-shirt. The collection also includes apparel, accessories, drinkware and collectibles.
According to NME, the range highlights some of Disney’s best-known villains, including Maleficent, Ursula, Cruella de Vil, the Evil Queen, the Headless Horseman and Vanessa from The Little Mermaid. The items are available at Disney Parks and through the Disney Store’s official website.
