Diplo said he privately welcomed a daughter and recently celebrated her first birthday while on a family vacation in Peru, according to E! News.
In an Aug. 15 Instagram post, the DJ shared photos with his children and wrote that his daughter had her birthday celebration with llamas wearing sunglasses. He also joked that before the trip, his son Lazer could not find Peru on a map.
Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz Jr., said watching his kids change “in real time” is part of what makes parenting meaningful. He shares sons Lockett, 15, and Lazer, 11, with ex Kathryn Lockhart, and Pace, 6, with Jevon King.
He added that the trip was hard to fit into his schedule, but worth it. Diplo said he would rather lose sleep with his family than spend it at a club or rave, and noted that it was time to return to work after the vacation.
