Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds were spotted enjoying The Cure at Way Out West

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds were photographed watching The Cure perform their headline set at Way Out West in Gothenburg, Sweden, according to NME.

Both acts played the festival on Friday, August 14. Cave and his band performed a two-hour set on the Azalea stage before The Cure closed the night on the Flamingo stage with a career-spanning show.

Bad Seeds multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis later posted a series of photos and videos from the evening, including one showing the band and their crew watching The Cure together. In his post, Ellis said he first saw the group in 1984 and added that he wants to see them “again and again and again and again and again.”

Cave has also spoken openly about his admiration for The Cure in recent months. In June, he wrote on The Red Hand Files that he put on The Cure after reflecting on an interaction with longtime fans in Denmark, and in a 2023 NME interview he said he has a “weird romance” for goth culture and an appreciation for its ability to endure.
