E! News reports that Devyn Dalton is gaining new attention after being revealed as Matt Damon’s stunt double in The Odyssey. Dalton said the job came after years of training and proving herself as a stunt performer.
In a conversation with Yahoo!, Dalton said the role was especially meaningful because she is 4-foot-6 and had to build the physical skills needed for the production. Damon also discussed the work on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, saying Dalton handled much of the arm work seen in scenes involving the giants.
Dalton told CBC News she was surprised when Damon’s praise went viral. She said she appreciated the recognition and hoped it would help shine a light on stunt acting, especially for women in the field.
According to E! News, Dalton grew up in Canada and began performing at a young age through dance, theater and child acting. Her credits also include The Last of Us, Resident Alien, Legion, Weapons, X-Men: Dark Phoenix and two Planet of the Apes films.
