Denise Welch has revealed that Tiny Habits performed the first dance at her son Matty Healy’s wedding to Gabbriette Bechtel, according to NME.
Welch made the comment on August 7 while hosting a listening party and pop-up show for Tiny Habits at St Pancras Old Church in Camden. The group was there to promote their upcoming album, Keepers.
She said Healy discovered the band through Instagram, and that Bechtel later surprised him with tickets to see James Taylor, where Tiny Habits were supporting. Welch said that was the moment Healy “fell in love with them.”
Healy and Bechtel married last month at Castillo del Lago, Madonna’s former estate in Los Angeles. Guests at the ceremony reportedly included Charli XCX, George Daniel, and several other names from the music and fashion worlds.
Tiny Habits’ new album Keepers is due out August 28 via Mom+Pop Music. Welch also joked that the band’s recent collaboration “went absolutely viral,” adding that they have not yet asked her to sing with them.
