Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal have become one of the most talked-about couples in entertainment, but their relationship history stretches back years before they were first seen together in public in 2024, according to Billboard.
Before the pair were linked romantically, they had already exchanged messages on X. After Abrams posted about her debut EP, Minor, Mescal replied that his “mum and dad” had set their alarms, and the two continued the playful exchange online.
Rumors of a romance began circulating in late 2023, and by June 2024, TMZ published photos showing Abrams and Mescal together at a London restaurant. More photos followed in August, including one that showed them holding hands in the city.
The couple later appeared at the November 2024 premiere of Gladiator II in Los Angeles, though they did not walk the carpet together. In 2025, Abrams shared photos and videos from Glastonbury, making the relationship more visible on Instagram, and Mescal later said he wanted to keep that part of his life private because it is “deeply precious” to him, according to Billboard.
By the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards, Abrams and Mescal made their red carpet debut together, and they were also seen at the Oscars and the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Abrams has also posted supportive messages about Mescal’s work and spoken about how the relationship has affected her songwriting, according to Billboard.
