David DeLuise is sharing his blunt thoughts on the end of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. According to E! News, the actor commented on Instagram during the show’s series finale on Aug. 4 and called the revival a “missed opportunity.”
DeLuise wrote under an Entertainment Tonight video featuring Selena Gomez and David Henrie discussing the show’s third and final season, saying, “It would not be over if the OG wizards were really there.” He played the father of the main characters in the original Disney Channel series.
Wizards of Waverly Place originally aired for four seasons from 2007 to 2012 and later inspired a TV movie. The sequel series was announced in 2024, with Gomez and Henrie returning as executive producers while also reprising their roles.
Jake T. Austin did not return for the revival, though several other familiar cast members made appearances. DeLuise returned in two episodes of the first season, and Maria Canals Barrera guest-starred in seasons one and three, according to E! News.
