Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders add earrings to their uniform for the first time

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have added earrings to their uniform for the first time, according to E! News. The team announced that the cheerleaders will now wear Bella Silver stud earrings by jeweler Kendra Scott on the field.

Senior director Kelli Finglass said in a press release shared with USA Today on Aug. 11 that the uniform is meant to tell a story before the team dances. She said adding jewelry is about intention, not decoration.

According to the release, the crystal design was inspired by Texas stars, stadium lights and the energy of game day. Finglass added that the earrings are meant to be a final touch that completes the look.

The earrings retail for $85 and were already sold out on Kendra Scott’s website, E! News reported. The cheerleaders have worn the same basic uniform style for decades, including the blue sleeves, white vest, white shorts and custom white cowboy boots.

Finglass has said the squad’s look has changed over the years, with updates to details such as the belt and buckle, but the organization had never officially included earrings before now.
