Charli XCX has released a full-length film to accompany her new album, Music, Fashion, Film, according to NME. The self-directed project arrived on July 24 alongside the singer’s seventh studio album.
The black-and-white film includes visuals for all 11 tracks on the record, along with behind-the-scenes footage and short introductions from Charli about how the album came together. In the opening, she says she has been making things with her friends throughout the process and enjoying every minute of it.
Charli says she worked on the album with producers A.G. Cook and Finn Keane, whom she described as close friends made through making music together. The film moves between fashion shoots, London footage, studio sessions and music-video sequences while she explains the ideas behind each song.
Among the highlights, Charli discusses the inspiration behind songs like Card Declined and Camera, and the film closes with No One Lasts Forever, which features spoken-word work from director David Cronenberg. The album was previewed at cinema listening events in 25 cities earlier this month, and it includes the previously released singles Rock Music, SS26, Wink Wink and Camera.
Music, Fashion, Film is Charli’s first standard studio album since 2024’s Brat, though she also released the soundtrack for Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights in February. She is set to headline Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 31, before her Reading & Leeds headline debut in August and a North American arena tour beginning September 11 in Philadelphia.
