Chad Hugo has released his debut solo single, “JUMPUPW!NYA,” featuring Tierra Whack, Leikeli47 and Rochelle Jordan, according to NME.
The former Neptunes and N.E.R.D. musician leans into familiar territory on the track, which is built around his signature grooves and layered, swirling synths.
The song also comes with an energetic video that shows a group of men in hazmat suits making the music, while Hugo appears as a cowboy in the desert and Whack pilots a spacecraft through a surreal setting.
The video ends with explosions across the different scenes. Hugo’s press also says more music is expected soon.
