The cause of death has been determined for a 51-year-old man who died after an accidental fall during a Goose concert at Madison Square Garden on June 20, according to Rolling Stone.
ABC7 reported that a medical examiner said Paul Keuker died from multiple blunt impact injuries. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Goose issued a statement after the show saying they were deeply saddened by the tragedy and extended sympathy to those affected. The band also thanked emergency personnel and venue staff for their care and support.
An MSG Entertainment spokesperson told Rolling Stone at the time that the company was deeply saddened by the fan’s death and sent condolences to the concertgoer’s family and friends. Despite the incident, Goose continued with the concert, performing a full set and encore that was streamed on Amazon Music.
According to witnesses on social media, police taped off part of the lower seating area where the fall occurred and moved attendees in that section to other seats in the arena.
