Brandon Flowers has released a new solo single called “Tiger’s Blood,” according to NME. The Killers frontman shared the track as the third preview from his upcoming solo album, “Thrasher.”
The album is set to arrive on August 21 through Island Records. Flowers previously released “Plans” in June and “Paradise” last month.
NME describes “Tiger’s Blood” as a driving, nostalgic song with a Bruce Springsteen-style feel that hits harder than the two songs he released before it. Flowers debuted the track at the Newport Folk Festival, where he also performed some Killers songs and appeared with Lucy Dacus and Nathaniel Rateliff.
“Thrasher” was recorded in Nashville with longtime collaborators Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado, along with guitarist David Rawlings, pedal steel player Bruce Bouton and harmonica player Charlie McCoy. The record looks back on Flowers’ childhood in Nephi, Utah, and on the country music his father played for him while driving around the countryside.
Flowers is set to support the album with a solo tour across the UK, Ireland and North America later this year, including a stop at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October.
