Brandon Blackstock’s brother, Shelby Blackstock, remembered him with a tribute on Instagram one year after Brandon’s death, according to E! News. Shelby said the anniversary brought back the reality of the loss, calling it a void that cannot be filled.
Brandon Blackstock died after a private battle with cancer. He was the father of River and Remy with ex-wife Kelly Clarkson, and also shared Savannah and Seth with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth.
In his post, Shelby reflected on the role Brandon played in his upbringing and said his brother helped shape his confidence. Shelby also noted that he is preparing to welcome his first son with his wife, Marissa Blackstock, who is pregnant with their first baby.
Shelby said he plans to pass along the lessons Brandon taught him to his own child. He ended the tribute by saying he still thinks of his brother every day and that the family misses and loves him.
Kelly Clarkson previously shared a rare update about her children after Brandon’s death, saying they had been spending more time sleeping in her bed as the family adjusted to a difficult period.
