Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have settled their legal dispute connected to It Ends With Us, according to E! News. Their attorneys announced the agreement two weeks before the pair were scheduled to head to trial.
In a joint statement obtained by NBC News on May 4, the lawyers said the film remains a source of pride for those who helped make it and said they hope the outcome can help everyone move forward. They also said concerns raised by Lively deserved to be heard and that they remain committed to workplaces free of improper conduct.
The conflict began after the movie’s release in August 2024 and grew into a series of lawsuits. Lively filed a complaint in December 2024 accusing Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and several associates of mounting a smear campaign after she raised concerns about sexual harassment on set. Baldoni and the Wayfarer team denied her claims.
In January 2025, Baldoni, Wayfarer and others filed their own lawsuit against Lively, Ryan Reynolds and her publicist, accusing them of defamation and extortion. A judge later dismissed that countersuit in June 2025, and in April 2026 another judge dismissed most of Lively’s claims, including the sexual harassment allegation.
Even after the settlement, some issues remained unresolved. Lively’s lawyers later sought about $8 million for attorneys’ fees and litigation costs, while Baldoni and Wayfarer argued that any fee award should be denied or cut significantly, according to court documents cited by USA Today.
