Billboard has released its 2026 21 Under 21 list, spotlighting 21 rising artists under the age of 21 who, according to the magazine, are focusing on authenticity as their careers accelerate.
The lineup includes a mix of solo performers and groups, along with familiar names and newer acts. Billboard says this year’s list reflects artists who are trying to stay true to themselves while building momentum in music.
Among the artists featured is KATSEYE, which Billboard says has had its biggest year yet since forming on the 2023 Dream Academy competition series. The group made its Lollapalooza debut, earned its first two Grammy nominations and landed three new Billboard Hot 100 entries in 2025.
Also included is North West, who Billboard notes became one of the youngest acts to ever chart on the Hot 100 in 2024 with “Talking” from Vultures 1. Sienna Spiro also made the list after what Billboard describes as a rapid rise that included the release of her debut album, Visitor, which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 9.
Billboard also points to former 21 Under 21 honorees such as Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Tate McRae, Xavi, sombr and Ayra Starr, all of whom later aged out of the eligibility window.
