Apple Music is raising the cost of its subscriptions right away, saying the move is tied to rising licensing costs, according to NME.
The change is the service’s first price increase since October 2022. In the UK, the individual plan is increasing from £10.99 to £11.99 a month, while the family plan is going from £16.99 to £19.99.
In Europe, the individual plan is rising from €10.99 to €11.99, the family plan is moving from €16.99 to €19.99, and the student plan is increasing to €6.99 per month. In the US, Apple Music says the individual plan will go from $10.99 to $11.99, the family plan from $16.99 to $19.99, and the student plan from $5.99 to $6.99.
The price hikes come as other streaming services have also made changes to their subscription costs. The same report notes that Apple Music recently added features to identify music made with AI, after previously introducing playlist-import tools for users switching from other platforms.
