Apple Corps Ltd has entered into a new partnership with Universal Music Group to manage licensing and merchandising for The Beatles, according to NME.
The companies said the “holistic agreement” covers digital and physical merchandising, licensing and e-commerce tied to the band. Apple Corps was founded in 1968 by The Beatles to handle their business interests.
The announcement comes ahead of Sam Mendes’ four-part Beatles biopic project, described as a “cinematic event,” which is scheduled for a simultaneous release in 2028.
Apple Corps also said its headquarters at 3 Savile Row will open to the public for the first time in 2027. The planned fan experience will include seven floors of archival material, rotating exhibitions, a fan store and a recreation of the studio where “Let It Be” was recorded.
Tom Greene, CEO of Apple Corps Ltd, said the company is excited to work with UMG as it looks ahead to the 2027 fan experience and the 2028 films. Dickon Stainer, chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group UK, said the agreement would help bring The Beatles’ story to audiences around the world.
