Angelina Jolie’s older brother, James Haven, has come out as gay, according to E! News. The announcement came during an Aug. 6 Substack livestream with his ex-wife, Romi Imbelli.
During the conversation, Imbelli asked Haven what he wanted to call himself, and he replied, “I’m gay.” Haven then shared a statement about his journey, saying he did not have the words to explain how he felt when he was younger.
He said his announcement was not about becoming someone else, but about allowing a part of himself to be seen. Haven also said he hopes his family and others choose love and understanding over fear and judgment.
In a follow-up video, Haven said he was beginning a new chapter in his life after years of healing from childhood trauma. The announcement comes more than a year after Imbelli filed to annul their marriage in March 2025, citing “fraud,” after the two married in August 2024.
