Amy Helm says she is no longer part of Levon Helm Studios, the Woodstock, New York performance and recording space founded by her late father, Levon Helm. According to Stereogum, Helm shared the update in an Instagram post and said the August 1-2 Helm Family Midnight Rambles would not go forward as planned.
In her message, Helm said she and the venue’s longtime core staff are not currently involved with Levon Helm Studios and have nothing to do with decisions made by new management. She also said she would speak more about the “disturbing circumstances” behind the situation at a later time.
The post suggests there is a legal dispute involving the venue’s board, though no details have been confirmed publicly. Stereogum reports that the Levon Helm Studios website shows only the Helm family events as postponed.
Helm said her focus is on protecting The Barn, which she described as part of her father’s legacy and a community built around it. She also thanked supporters for their outpouring of love as her family moves through the matter with faith in the legal system.
