ABC has renewed American Idol for a 25th season, the network confirmed on July 29, according to E! News. The next installment of the long-running singing competition is set to premiere next year.
The network has not yet said whether judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan will return, or if host Ryan Seacrest will be back for another season.
Auditions for season 25 are scheduled to begin Aug. 25 with the return of Idol Across America, the show’s virtual audition process that lets singers from all 50 states try out for producers. Open-call auditions will also be held through Sept. 28.
Season 24 ended in May with Hannah Harper winning the title after the finale, where she beat finalists Jordan McCullough and Keyla Richardson. Seacrest announced Harper as the newest champion during the May 11 finale.
