Rihanna may be working on new music again, according to A$AP Rocky. In an appearance on The Jason Lee Podcast on Wednesday, August 5, Rocky said the singer was “in the studio right now,” as reported by NME.
He added that Rihanna was “cooking” and joked that he might get in trouble for revealing it. Rocky also said he would not want a joint album from the two, describing his own music as more niche and saying he believes they should not record together.
Rihanna has not released a new album since 2016’s Anti, but she has continued to suggest that a follow-up is taking shape. In a Harper’s BAZAAR interview last year, she said the project would not sound like what people expect and would not be designed as commercial radio music.
She has also dismissed rumors that the album would be reggae, and said in 2024 that she was “starting over” with a “new perspective.” NME also noted that she was pictured in a studio earlier this year.
