Yo La Tengo has announced a new ticket lottery for this year’s annual Hanukkah shows after many of the original pre-sale tickets were purchased by scalpers and bots, according to Stereogum.
The band’s run of shows is scheduled for Dec. 4 through Dec. 11 at Bowery Ballroom in New York City. The concerts will include special guests and surprises, and the proceeds traditionally support charities.
Bowery Ballroom said in a statement on Instagram that it is working to recover as many tickets as possible for redistribution. The venue also urged fans not to buy tickets from resale sites.
In a post on Instagram, Yo La Tengo said the flagged tickets have been canceled and will be re-sold through Ticketmaster Request. Fans can request tickets from noon Friday through Sunday, Aug. 2 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, and they will be notified by the end of the day Tuesday, Aug. 4 if their request is fulfilled. Additional tickets will be available Wednesday, Aug. 5 at Record Grouch in Brooklyn when the store opens at noon.
