Fitness influencer and trainer Ashley Paulson has set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest 100-mile treadmill run, according to UPI Odd News.
Paulson, 44, completed the run on April 18 in Boston in 12 hours, 47 minutes and 10 seconds. That time beat the previous record by about an hour and a half.
In comments to Guinness World Records, Paulson said she had wanted to try for the record for several years. She said she has completed many ultramarathons of 100 miles or more and believed she had the ability to do it on a treadmill as well.
Paulson also said the treadmill challenge was difficult because there was no change in terrain, which meant the same repetitive motion put extra fatigue on certain muscles. The rules allowed her to take breaks, but the clock kept running the entire time.
