KATSEYE is speaking openly about supporting two of its members during their time away from the group. In a recent appearance on Today, Lara Raj said the group believes it is important to put well-being first and that they fully stand behind Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman, according to E! News.
Raj also shared a simple message for both members: “We love you guys so much, always.” Megan Skiendiel, Daniela Avanzini and Yoonchae Jeong showed their agreement by blowing kisses and making heart hands.
The comments came after HYBE x Geffen Records announced on Aug. 7 that Laforteza would be temporarily unable to take part in upcoming promotional activities. The statement said her mental health and wellness had to be prioritized, and that medical professionals advised her to take extended rest and ongoing care.
According to the group’s announcement, Laforteza’s hiatus is expected to last until September, when her condition will be reassessed and fans will get another update. Laforteza later wrote on Instagram Stories that missing events “truly breaks my heart,” and said she was learning that health has to come first.
Laforteza is the second KATSEYE member to step away this year. Bannerman announced a temporary hiatus in February to focus on her health and wellbeing.
