Vera Blue has covered Radiohead’s “Creep” for triple j’s Like A Version, according to Billboard.

For the performance, the Australian singer-songwriter kept the arrangement simple, using electric guitar, piano and vocals. She gradually moved from the lower part of her range into a falsetto in the chorus, and later added an eerie sound with The Pipe, a mouth-controlled effects processor and synthesizer made by SOMA Laboratory.

Blue said she was drawn to the song’s emotional center, calling it an “epic rock song” with heartbreaking lyrics. She said she wanted to create a “very haunting version” that still reflected Thom Yorke’s original.

During the same studio session, Blue also performed “Maze,” a song from her upcoming album Modern Rituals. The album is set for release on Friday, Aug. 21 via Island Records/Universal Music Australia, and she will launch a national tour that same night in Brisbane.
