Leon Brown is opening up about what it was like growing up in the Brown family’s polygamist household, according to E! News. In a TikTok video posted Aug. 4, the Sister Wives alum said their childhood was shaped by what they described as a “family of four parents.”
Leon, the only child of Kody Brown and Meri Brown, said the family was “in the cult then” and explained that they were homeschooled until the family moved to Utah when they were 10. They said that after the move, they began attending the same church, which they referred to as a “cult church.”
They also said religion became more central once they started going to the church’s school. Leon described Thursday primary classes as religious education for children and said there was a strong sense of religious scrutiny and reward tied to the experience.
Leon said they enjoyed primary at the time, but added that they are not sure how they feel about its teachings when looking back now. Their comments come after other members of the Brown family, including Christine Brown Woolley, have also described their upbringing in similar terms.
