Brynn Carnesecca, a Utah beauty pageant titleholder, has died by suicide at age 21, according to E! News. Her family and friends are remembering her as someone who gave back and made an impact on the people around her.
At a vigil held July 28, her mother, Michele Carnesecca, told KSL that she hopes Brynn will be remembered for the “amazing life she lived.” Michele said Brynn was an accomplished writer and reader from a young age and described her as talented, funny and committed to helping others.
Brynn was crowned Miss American Fork in 2024 and was voted Miss Congeniality at the 2025 Miss Utah pageant. According to her Instagram bio, she was scheduled to compete next in the Miss Provo pageant beginning Aug. 22.
Her mother said Brynn was known for quiet acts of service, including starting Envelopes of Hope, a pen pal service connecting local citizens with incarcerated people in Utah. Her sister, Cate Carnesecca, also shared tributes on Instagram, calling Brynn her best friend and saying her story shows that people may be struggling even when they appear full of light.
