Bay Area rap group SOBxRBE has released its first new song in seven years, according to Pitchfork. The trio of Yhung T.O., DaBoii, and Slimmy B reunited for the single “Ten Summers,” along with an accompanying music video.
In a statement, the group said the song is about coming back together on their own terms and moving past things that once felt impossible to overcome. They also noted that the title refers to the 10th anniversary of SOBxRBE’s founding in 2016.
The group said they were young when the project began and that a lot was happening around them beyond music. Over time, they said, they grew up, became fathers, and gained a better understanding of what matters most.
SOBxRBE played their first show in seven years in March. They also have two more performances scheduled this year, at Back 2 the Bay in San Jose and New West Coast in Salt Lake City, with additional dates expected to be announced soon.
