Remi Wolf has released her first new song in two years, “Twiggy,” following her 2024 album Big Ideas, according to Pitchfork.
Wolf first performed the track live last weekend during a surprise appearance at Hayley Williams’ headlining set at Newport Folk Festival. Pitchfork notes that the recorded version has now been shared publicly.
“Twiggy” features a warm, finger-picked guitar arrangement and lyrics focused on a close but complicated relationship, with small details like a Lexus driving backward and “a wrinkle where your eyes should close.” Wolf said the song was written about people she has been with who “lack both butts and emotional availability,” and added that it could also be about the messiness of addiction.
The release includes a vinyl-only B-side titled “Tiny Little Twigs (Demo).” Since Big Ideas came out in 2024, Wolf has also collaborated with Thundercat and Zedd, performed at several festivals, and appeared in the season premiere of Amazon Prime’s Off Campus in May.
