Usher is brushing off an online conspiracy theory that claimed he used a clone or body double during his Aug. 7 concert stop in New Jersey with Chris Brown, according to E! News.
The rumor picked up steam after Power 105.1 shared a video from the show and asked whether the performer was really Usher or a clone. Usher responded in the comments, joking, “clone? They can’t clone this??” and adding, “AI ain’t that advanced.”
In the clip, Usher appeared to pause while looking for the right stage entrance before beginning his performance of “Yeah!” The moment fueled speculation from some viewers, while others defended the singer and said the crowd’s reaction may have been overblown.
Usher and Brown’s R&B Tour has generated plenty of conversation since it began in June. In an interview with Associated Press published June 24, Usher said the tour is about supporting R&B fans and said he hopes their collaboration leads to more artists joining forces in the future.
