George Michael’s former manager says he hopes to release an unfinished duet the late singer recorded with Elton John, according to NME.
The song, called “This Kind Of Love,” was started in the 1990s and has stayed unreleased for more than 30 years. Former manager Andros Georgiou said both artists recorded their vocals separately and that he is now looking for Elton John’s approval to complete the track.
Georgiou discussed the project while promoting his film Trojan Souls, which focuses on Michael’s unreleased 1993 album of the same name. That album was expected to include collaborations with artists including Stevie Wonder, Sade, Seal and Aretha Franklin, but it was ultimately shelved because of label disputes.
John has often paid tribute to Michael since his death on Christmas Day in 2016. He has described him as one of the most brilliant songwriters and vocalists he ever knew, and honored him again during his 2023 Glastonbury headline set.
